1989: Marc moved to Ohio, where he converted to Christianity.

Marc had a difficult time as a child.  He moved to Ohio around age 10, and converted from Mormonism to Christianity.  As God took a hold of his heart, he began to process the events of his childhood, and he desired to do something for the children who suffered.  This desire grew as he got married and became a father.  

Romans 8:15  So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.[a] Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
