August 19, 2014: Hiccups and reassurances

Today marked a very special event:  we sent the first part of our dossier (26 documents, I believe!) to a fellow adoptive family in California so that they can carry it over with them to Eastern Europe next week!  The facilitation team will start translating it so that we can be ready to go when we're ready to travel!

Please pray it gets there safely!

I also have a confession and a prayer request.

Confession:  I have been worrying about finances.  Marc is so confident in God's provision, and I have failed in this arena.  But God is so patient with my wandering heart, so good to reassure me even when I don't deserve it.  As of today, 9 of our post-it notes have been claimed, totaling $200, and another wonderful soul that I haven't even met (a friend-of-a-friend) contacted me asking if she could give!  God is so good, friends.  I, in my doubt, did not deserve those reassurances, but yet they are there.

Prayer Request:  I found out late last night (when I discovered my lost cell phone and checked my messages) that Ohio is not going to apostille our documents without a judge's signature.  The marriage documents are not a huge problem, but there could be issues with a court document that also must be signed.  Please pray that God softens the hearts of the people who must jump through hoops for us so that we can get that document signed and apostilled, and please pray that Marc and I are somehow able to convey the gospel to them as we work this out.

These documents are for our dossier, so they will be part of the "third trimester" so to speak:  The home study is the first, USCIS approval the second, and dossier for foreign country the third.  Travel and court and getting home is labor, and then, as all parents know, the real fun begins.  :)

Friends, thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement.  There are days of supreme distress, but there are also renewed mornings of complete overwhelming goodness and grace.  This morning is one of those, thanks to you wonderful saints.

Lamentations 3:22-23  The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
