Collier Family Adoption Update:

HOME!!!!!!

January 22-February 7, 2015: Sub-MISSIONS. Wait. WHAT????????????????

Hello Friends!

So ONE MILLION things have happened since my last update.

Really.

We've lived about 10 weeks in about 3.

I will start on January 22nd.  We got word that our paper work hit U in time for us to be submitted on the first Thursday in 2015 that the U government started retaking submissions.

BIG NEWS.

The following Tuesday, we had dinner with the Mullens, an amazing family that has a heart for adoption and for orphan care.  They go to our church.  Elizabeth, the youngest Mullen, came home from U 10 years ago.

Today, their family runs a non profit organization that helps girls in Moldova (U's neighbor) once they age out of the system.  It is a dangerous world for those girls, who at sixteen are handed a pillow and $40 and put on the street.  Our night of fellowship was amazing.  We were so inspired by this family, and we pray that we will have an opportunity to work with their organization in the future, as well as spend time with them because they are just totally awesome.

So, that dinner date was January 27th.  We went home encouraged and inspired, and ready to hunker down for a 6-8 week wait.

Thursday night, Nancy, "Ben's Mom," called.  I tutor Ben on Fridays.  She said that Ben wasn't feeling well, and she wasn't sure if we'd be able to get together.  We decided to have her call me in the morning and let me know how he was doing.

So Friday, January 30th, at 7-something AM, I am in the bathroom not feeling great.  My husband rushes in with the phone and says, "I already hit the green button!  Just talk!"  So without looking at the phone, I just say, "Hello?"

And I hear, "This is Nancy."  What do I think?  Naturally, Ben's mom.

She says, "What are you doing?"

And I say, thinking this is odd, "Getting my boys ready for school."

And she says, "Are you ready to travel?"

And I'm like, "To the library?"

And she says, "To U!"

It was our facilitator, Nancy!!!!

We got travel dates--8 days after submission!  UNHEARD OF.  SHOCK.  We had 8 days to get ready for Marc to leave the country!!!!!!!!

There was a lot of screaming that morning, happy screaming, shock screaming, frantic phone calls, on and on, and eventually, it started to sink in.  Marc was going to U!

His DAP day is Feb. 9, and he will most likely meet girls on Feb. 11.

WOW!!!!

What a week it has been since then!

We made flights, ordered money, packed, got 1123894 billion packages, and tried to keep up with life.

Marc is now en route.

We will keep you posted!!!!!
