December 31, 2013: Saw video of Nolan boys

On New Year's Eve, Jenny posted a video that a friend had made of the two boys they were going to adopt.  It was beautiful, set to a song that I have come to adore:  A Thousand Years.  It almost killed me when I realized this song wasn't actually written about adoption but about Twilight.  Oh, brother.  I guess just close your eyes and imagine a mother meeting her child for the first time!

Anyways, I am off topic.  I showed the video to Marc, and what he did really spoke volumes to my heart.  He took our boys into a side room (we were staying with about 15 other people in my grandparents' house) and showed it to them.  He explained to them about the boys' situation, and how God had called us to care for orphans.  The boys had lots of questions, and Marc patiently answered them.  Then he led our boys in prayer.  I was so touched by his obvious heart for those two precious souls, and God used that moment to begin the softening of my own heart.
