October 2011: Move in with Grandparents

In October of 2011, we realized that we were going to need to make some changes in our lives.  We were unsure of what those changes would be, but we were aware of the fact that we needed to start setting aside some money in order to prepare for the future.

We sold our house to Marc's parents and moved in with my grandparents.  It was a difficult transition, but my grandparents were incredibly gracious hosts who made it as easy as possible.

(These are my amazing grandparents!)

It was humbling, and slightly cramped given our previous living situation, but we made it through.  God used our time at my grandparents' to help me see all that I was missing concerning motherhood.  I spent very little time with my children, and when I did I was tired and distracted.  By Christmas of that year, I knew that change needed to happen.  My loving husband had known it for a while, but he'd waited patiently while I wrestled with the truth God was working into the cracks of my hard heart.

Thank goodness for loving and patient husbands and relatives!

Psalm 65:10  You drench the plowed ground with rain, melting the clods and leveling the ridges.  You soften the earth with showers and bless its abundant crops.
