October 29, 2014: We Have Contact!

Well, I talked to Officer Knight yesterday!

I asked some questions to find out how the USCIS process works, and this is what she told me.

She has until November 17 to sign our declaration to adopt.  However, if there are problems with our paperwork, she can postpone signing.  PLEASE pray that we don't have paperwork problems.  If there are problems, she will notify us by mail.  If there are no problems, she could have it signed earlier than November 17.  Please pray there are no problems!

I am not going to lie...this morning, I am struggling to keep my focus on God's sovereignty.  Please pray that I continue to cling to his promises and to trust him with the timing of this situation.

Once we have that paper signed, we get it notarized and apostilled, and then we send it to Ukraine.  Once in Ukraine, it is submitted to the government, and we await travel dates.  Travel dates mean that we're getting super close!

Marc will make three trips:  one to meet them, one to pass court, and one to bring them home.  If things in Ukraine calm down a little before then, I may be able to make the last trip.  Please pray for God's wisdom and leading.

Psalm 73:28  But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.
