May 21, 2014: Inspection day = Commitment day!

Oh, what a day! I barely slept the night before, and I prayed and sang SEEDS songs and quoted scripture to try and calm myself.  It was the day of reckoning.

We had to pass inspection on the new house in order to be able to manage with four children; if this happened, we could commit!  I could not wait!

We went to the house during the inspection, and the man was so nice!  He gave us two big discounts, even though he said he usually didn't do that, and the house passed with flying colors!  We were so relieved!

We had a few errands to run during the afternoon, and then we went home.  After the boys were tucked in bed, Marc and I sat down to the computer.  We prayed, and then I composed my emails.  We prayed again, and then he put his finger on the button and asked me to put my finger on top of his.  On the count of three, we pushed it, and we informed Hand of Help in Adoption and Reece's Rainbow that we were going to commit to the girls!

Marc went to bed, and I stayed up to do paperwork!  Nancy Thornell is really fast at sending stuff out!  :)  I stayed up until after midnight, and by the time I went to sleep, I had a sore throat, a stuffy nose, itchy eyes, and yucky ears.  Ech!  I think it was a release of tension and emotions that just overdid my system!  But it was all so worth it!

James 1:27  Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

  1. It’s great that you didn’t have a hard time passing the inspection, Rebecca. Otherwise, it could’ve been one of those stuff that could stress you out. Anyway, how was your adjustment period? I hope you enjoy your stay and have a good relationship with the neighborhood. Thanks for sharing!
